Scott has close to twenty years experience creating campaigns for some of New Zealand and Australia’s largest clients – and leading agencies. He arrived in Wellington in 2002 as a senior creative at Clemenger BBDO, before creatively leading the offices of Ogilvy, Saatchi & Saatchi and Y&R as Creative Director.
In this time, he’s created some of New Zealand’s most powerful and effective social marketing, most targeted and effective recruitment, and most complex information campaigns – and worked on leading commercial brands across almost every product category. His work has been consistently recognised with over 120 local and international advertising awards spanning creativity, craft, and effectiveness across traditional, direct and digital media.
James Manttan

As one of Wellington’s most experienced and versatile independent producers, James brings a wealth
of production leadership experience across a broad range of disciplines – spanning website development, digital campaigns, film and video, ongoing social content, animation and visual brand design. Past roles include Digital Producer at world-leading digital agency Resn, co-director of Wellington video/animation house Dusk VFX from 2013-18, and leading the in-house production team at Wellington brand agency Strategy.
A long-term SAS partner, James will source & manage all specialist production required on our projects – negotiating capped, fixed costs for all inputs from a broad network of proven specialists. He is also closely involved throughout initial briefing and strategic / creative development, to ensure that all solutions presented are guaranteed to meet your budget allocations, and timing requirements.
Nick Farland
Specialist Advisor / Social Marketing & Behaviour Change
Nick is a renowned Australasian expert in behaviour change / social marketing – with comprehensive expertise covering strategy, research, evaluation of messaging & media, project management, and working with stakeholders. He has held numerous senior roles both within agencies and client organisations, driving campaigns addressing family and sexual violence, road safety, biosecurity, alcohol moderation, smoking cessation, disaster preparedness and injury prevention. He is also the author of ‘12 principles of successful behaviour change’ – which underpins Marketing Association resources and course content for several universities – and contributes to the NZ Social Marketing Network and NZ Behavioural Insights Community of Practice.
Nick’s expertise can be drawn on independently from other SAS services – working and liaising with your team (and any partner agencies) to review an existing programme, help you establish a new one, or provide ongoing advice and evaluation of social marketing activity as a ‘plug-in’ member of your team.
